A new drug emerged in Barcelona, coming from sub-Saharan Africa, intercepted on a flight bound for New York. The drug known as Khat is not a new drug, is a plant of antiquity that emerges in the coffee bushes and cultivated in Ethiopia and Yemen and less scale in Kenya, Tanzania, Madagascar and Uganda. Nowadays many people consume Khat. The cost of this root varies from 1 euro up to 600 euros per Kg. The effects of this plant are similar to amphetamine that produce the active ingredients of this root which are prohibited by the UN and the WHO.
