Abstract

Game-based learning has been proposed as a methodology that improves learning by increasing motivation and generating positive emotions. However, few studies have examined the application of this type of methodology in vocational education and training. This study uses a mixed methodology to assess the interest, motivation and learning generated by an innovative game-based sequence implemented among a group of Higher Diploma in Dietetics students. The findings confirm the educational value of the methodology in this specific learning environment and support its replication with other groups and in other contexts.
