Abstract
During the early modern period innumerous natural disasters hit contemporary economic, social and political structures. recent research is very interested in the analysis of natural disasters and their consequences. This paper addresses the potential consequences of these disasters for the religious infrastructure of a Catholic religious Order like the Dominican Order. For doing this, firstly, we propose the concept of "religious infrastructure". Next, we offer a series of potential analytical questions. And finally, using the latest digital humanities techniques I tentatively approach a very frequent natural disaster, the earthquake, and its potential implications for the infrastructure of the Dominican Order in Europe.
