Abstract

The deposition of liquids over the strip during steel manufacturing is essential for manyindustrial processes such as water cooling, lubrication, or cleaning. The most commonsystem for blowing-off liquid from a surface is an air-knife, whose nozzle gap is usuallyfixed by means of screws. In this work, the interaction air-liquid will be analyzed. Moreover, the 3D instabilities produced by the screws will be evaluated to analyze its impact in theuniform wiping of the continuous steel strip.
