Résumé

The popular use of digital platforms using smartphones, tablets or virtual reality goggles have become an alternative to the traditional tourism guides and audio-guides over the last years. Nowadays, tourism is based on new experiences and different emotions, thus new digital outlets provide a new path to explore cultural tourism. Therefore, we believe in the on-off tourism. Cáceres, which was declared as UNESCO World Heritage site in 1986, has been taken as the city for this study, we focus on the andalusi legacy of Cáceres, particularly on the extraordinary cistern (aljibe) and on the walled city of the Almohades time, as characteristic elements of its Islamic past. The virtualization and value of the Islamic heritage of Cáceres will offer new tourism opportunities for a new type of visitors, the Muslim tourist. The Muslims represent, approximately 25 % of the world population and mainly from from rich or emergent countries. Islam is a way of life, with consumer habits identified by its religion. The Koran defines what is advisable, halal, or not haram. Muslims live, buy and travel like Muslims and look for destinations in which they feel identified and respected. The present study aims to achieve that Cáceres, by means of virtualization of its heritage, will be chosen as a destination from the halal tourists.
