The aim of this study was to analyse the evolution of the horizontal jump in youth athletes during a whole season. A total of 152 young athletes (65 boys and 87 girls) participated in this study. Participants were divided into three groups: under 8 years (n = 62), under 10 years (n = 49) and under 12 years (n = 41). The results of this study showed signifcantly better values (p < 0.01) in horizontal jump capacity, as in both sex as in all categories. However, the magnitude of improvement was greater in girls than in boys (d = 0.52 vs. d = 0.28). Moreover, the under 10 improved more (d = 0.71) than the under 8 (d = 0.28) and under 12 groups (d = 0.54). All groups, according to age and sex, showed a greater horizontal jump capacity at the end of the season.
