In this paper it is presented the global evolution of the chemical quality of a spring located in theCampus of A Zapateira, on the outskirts of A Coruña. In order to do so it was carried out the followup of a series of physical chemical parameters analyzed in the water samples taken from that springfrom February to December 2002. The results were compared with the parameter figures of Spanish and European current legislature regarding drinking water. In general terms and taking intoaccount the available data, the water analysed shows good quality, nevertheless, the amonium contents in some samples have a higher concentration than the reference levels. Likewise, it could beobserved that the contents of nitrate ion are quite high, although they do not exceed those levelsand they may be caused by specific leaks from the septic tanks of the households next to the spring.
