Abstract

Editio princeps of a funerary inscription found in the wall of a house at Padilla de Duero (Peñafiel, Valladolid / Spain), probably coming from the Vaccaeo-Roman necropolis of Las Ruedas at Pintia. The onomastics is totally indigenous, with Abanus and Bodogenus as the names of father and son and an adjectival indication of appurtenance to the family group of the Saibodaeci or descendants of Saibodos. The article also discusses other onomastic elements, three hospitality agreements, the theonym Baudihillia and a possible Celtic cognate of the Latin adjective saevus.
