Sarcoidosis is a chronic multisystemic disease that appears as a consequence of the action of an external agent that triggers an immune response on genetically predisposed people. The disease is asymptomatic in most cases and therefore its diagnosis will be casual, usually after performing a chest imaging test for another cause. In case symptoms appear, they are usually nonspecific and they usually affect to the respiratory system. In the same way that the clinic is vague, the remission of the disease is often spontaneous, so there is controversy about whether to treat the disease and, in case it has to be treated, what is the best time to do so. The prognosis varies depending on the occurrence of the disease, so that if it appears abruptly or acutely (70-90%), it is better than if it appers progressively or chronically (10-30%).
