Resumo

The incidence of drug allergy in the general and pediatric population is underestimated. Adverse drug reaction (ADR) is defined as any harmful or unintended reaction to a drug that occurs at doses used for prevention, diagnosis, or treatment. Actual incidence of ADRs is not known because there are still no means of monitoring and documentation in most health centers. Hypersensitivity to drugs reactions is responsible for extraordinary morbidity, mortality, and costs. In current update we will try to provide efficient standards of practical management that all physicians should know.
