Resumo
Paraganglioma is a benign tumor that originates from the cells of the carotid corpuscle. Its location is at the level of the neck at the carotid bifurcation between the internal and external carotid arteries. A retrospective analysis of these tumors treated over a period of 40 years is carried out at work. Demographic data with respect to sex and age of presentation and other morphological data of size and extension are analyzed, assigning them to the different types according to the Shamblin classification. The type of surgical treatment performed and the results obtained are assessed.
