Resum
The methodology to appreciate how citizens perceive noise and its effects has five main stages and one is: Dose-effect correlation and cost-benefit correlation. Concerning dose-effect relationship, it has been observed that there is a linear correlation between the Lden, effect (in 5 dB intervals) and the cumulative HA percentage below a certain Lden. Nevertheless, when Lden is related to the average annoyance or to the percentage of HA, an oscillating pattern around the corresponding fitted line is found. From the cost-benefit analysis it can be concluded that the majority of the citizens are more willing to pay to improve their own dwelling acoustics characteristics than to improve the environmental acoustics in their neighbourhood.
