Nuevos usos del patrimoniorecuperación del patrimonio abandonado en la montaña palentina

Abstract

The "Montaña Palentina" has been the aim of study of quite a lot of research, in particular "Barruelo de Santullán" whose main characteristics of patrimonial, natural and industrial value can be analyzed as well as the investment made for this place. However, just a few studies have analyzed the actual situation of the investment made decades ago, for this reason, the intention of this work is to show the reality and the actual situation of some of the projects started in the past. "Barruelo de Santullán", a place with a broad mining tradition, can be considered as an example where the cessation of the mining activity had an effect on the social and economic situation of this municipality, nevertheless, some private and public implemented iniciatives bet on the recovery and, in some cases, the restructuring of its applications, having achieved the economical and patrimonial revaluation for this territory. An example of this is the continuity of one of the projects started with the industrial restructuring plan, the rehabilitation of the old school of "Barruelo de Santullán" into a mine museum and, on the other hand, the old railway station which was recovered and rehabilitated for mainly tourism applications in the year 2013 after a private initiative and successive restructuring projects. A bibliographical and field work which will allow the analysis through images of the changing applications and the recovery of these places with a high patrimonial value.
