Abstract
A study of the characteristics of the feminine gender treatment in the most remarkable works of the spanish historiography in Late Antiquity, those by Orosio, Hidacio, Juan of Bíclaro and Isidore of Seville, allows us to identify some different patterns of women attending to the activity or passivity of their behaviours and their relationship with the public sphere, which is preferebly shown in this type of sources, and also to penetrate into the making process of these different profiles and their evolution from the fifth to the seventh century.
