Abstract

In this article we examine the phonological, syntactical and semantical similarities between the poetical works of Gerald Manley Hopkins and D. Thomas due to what we believe to be Hopkin's influence on Thomas. At the same time we try to prove that Thomas did not reproduce exactly any of Hopkins's linguistical devices but used them only as a means of achieving his personal identity as a poet.
