Abstract
This paper estimates a knowledge production function for the Spanish economy. The foundation for this function is an endogenous growth model in which the drivers of growth are the physical and human capitals and the stock of scientific knowledge (ideas). Generation of new ideas depends on the movement of the international frontier of knowledge (measured with the TFP of the US), the stock of knowledge already in use inside the economy and the number of scientists dedicated to R&D
