Abstract

Along the years the moorish subject has attracted many historians attention, who have approached it from different perspectives. This article is about an interesting documentation dated in 1528 and found in the Archive Collection of the Royal Chancery of Granada. The documents deal whit a sodomy process which took place in Granada and a group of baptized moors was implicated. The analysis of this event has permitted to investigate thoroughly cases of sodomy in Castilla in the sixteenth century, an aspect of the relationship between the civil and the ecclesiastical jurisdiction, the level of cohabitation among baptized moors and old christians and the moorish problem and the extent of its branches in many aspects in the Kingdom of Granada along the sixteenth century.
