Abstract

Coherence relationships between the type of Physical Education developed and the evaluation system carried out are analysed. This is especially important when we refer to cooperative Physical Education programmes. A brief critical analysis of traditional models of evaluation-qualification in Physical Education is then carried out. Subsequently, an alternative proposal that we have named "Formative and Shared Evaluation" is presented. We understand that this proposal possesses greater educational value and is more consistent with the new approaches to PE. It has been experimented and developed by a group of PE teachers for the past thirteen years through different collaborative educational research-action projects. Finally, we discuss in what ways this new proposal improves the traditional PE evaluation model.
