Abstract

Representative and decorative needs of the Court of Philip II motivates the services of an extensive list of architects assigned to the Casa del Príncipe Felipe and, later, to the monarch. Cristiano de Amberes, Flemish painter and resident of the town of Madrid, developed his craft in this context from 1547 until his death in 1580 as Artist of His Majesty in the Caballeriza of the Casa de Borgoña. We provide here some information that sheds light on your life and artistic career.
