Abstract
In 1858, the idea of building a new tower for the cathedral of Valladolid arose strongly. It had to substitute to the demolished tower in 1841. Several options were proposed by different architects for this aim. It gave rise to a discussion about the intervention in the building of Juan de Herrera. With this work, the most important actions about the future tower of the cathedral are documented to its final projection, starting on 1885.
