Zusammenfassung

Introduction: Job satisfaction is a subject of concern to the Group of social workers to the extent that the level of satisfaction is essential to keep the profession alive, improve mental hygiene and provide quality care for the users of the services to work. The data come from a BA study by Torices (2010) on the E. U. of Social Work of León during the academic year 2009/2010, under the direction of the author of this article. Objective: The objective of this article is to analyze the overall job satisfaction rate expressed by the participating social workers, contrasting different hypotheses about the possible influence that certain variables relating to both the worker and the organization can have on the level of satisfaction expressed. Methods. Design: Descriptive study conducted on the socio-demographic and employment characteristics of 14 professional associations of Social Work in Spain. Sample: The total number of participants was 485, while analysis is conducted on 387, who were the professionals who actually worked as social workers. Results: The results show a higher degree of satisfaction in the married participants or participants living with a partner, who do not have other studies and with incomes higher than 1500 Euros. A significant statistical trend has not been detected between sex, age and type of contract, type of institution, the collective of beneficiaries on the one hand and the degree of job satisfaction of social workers on the other hand.
