Resum

The aspen (Populus tremula L.), is a native species whose populations in Spain represent the southwestern limit of its global distribution, a fact that ascribed characteristics of significant importance for conservation. However, their populations are undergoing rapid and extensive disappearance, their distribution in marginal ecological niches, the difficulty to colonize new areas and the immediate effects of climate change affect their survival. ! In response to this problem an in vitro active bank of germplasm conservation is proposed, representing the genetic diversity of P. tremula in the community of Castilla y León.
