Résumé

Critical analysis of the relationship between urban design and planning with Nature, closely related to the landscape concept in the scenario of a larger research. First, It set out the necessity of a deeper understanding of landscape notion, closer to the perspective of geography and ecology, including the anthropological approach. To introduce this landscape focus in town and regional planning leads to the bigger commitment: it means a better environment and spatial phenomena understanding. However, in urbanism has prevailed the visual approach to landscape, with the myth of the urban place or the perfection in the relation between the city and its settlement. We need a better reading of Nature. The idea of wilderness, which belongs to the American culture, provides a specific floor to the Natural phenomena acceptance, stronger and closer to the comprehensive landscape explanation. All of that would enable the evolution of urban realm to a real adaptive way.
