Résumé

On the basis of a set of inventories of post mortem properties dated between 1530 and 1636, and contemporary stories of foreign travelers who passed through the Iberian Peninsula, we have tried to compose an essay that deals with the composition of the ceramic ware of the Spanish society of that time, their trends and progressive changes, in comparison to that in the Peninsula and Europe. These documentary sources reveal in an exceptional way the evolution of the Renaissance fashion regarding the use of ceramic tableware at the domestic environment that was taking place among the high society of a typical Spanish town as Valladolid.
