Résumé

The triumphal entry of Charles V and the imperial court in Naples following the conquest of Tunis transformed the Parthenopean capital into a privileged setting for the display of the rhetoric of power, as seen in diplomatic correspondence and a broad repertoire of literary sources and genres especially the eclogue, adapted to express conflicts in an idealized language.
