Résumé

In this study, intravitreal injection of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), cryotherapy and vitrectomy were used to reproduce some disease factors of PVR such as vitreous hemorrhages and inflammatory reaction. Four experimental groups were established: E 1) PRP injection, E2) PRP injection + cryotherapy, E3) PRP injection + vitrectomy and E4) PRP injection + cryotherapy + vitrectomy. Ophthalmoscopic findings grouped according to Fastenberg's classification. The eyes were processed for light or electro n microscopy (EM). The most important lesions were found in group E4, seven of thirteen eyes showed retinal detachment with giant holes, and histology showed retroretinal membranes with cells like Müller's cells. No other group had more than two (of twelve eyes) total retinal detachments showed epiretinal membranes composed of fibroblast-like cells and colIagen along with tractional retinal folds.
