Abstract

This publication aims to meet the need arising in companies of connecting the management of their knowledge with the multiple possibilities offered by new technologies. The research has analyzed the applicability of ERP tools to different business environments and in particular to a company in the logistics sector. The main objective of this publication is to study how to implement an ERP system for a small transportation company in an optimal way. To achieve this goal it will be necessary to make an analysis of the different existing ERPs, selection of the one that best meets company's objectives and, finally, to set the ERP system to provide a viable solution to the particular needs of the company. With the implementation of the ERP system the company seeks to optimize processes, reduce operating costs, improve efficiency, make better business decisions, increase customer satisfaction, minimize human error, reduce inventory and stocks, etc.
