Abstract
With the conclusion of the Trade and Cooperation Agreement EU-UK on 31 December 2020, a long process began in 2016 with the referendum is closed . The author assesses the history of the UK membership to the EU from 1973, plenty of British exceptions negotiated into the EU and analyses the main aspects of both, the 2020 Withdrawal Agreement as well as the future framework of relationship established in the Trade and Cooperation Agreement. As a conclusion , it seems evident the EU has been able to negotiate with a single voice face to the interna! political cacophony in the United Kingdom, and to preserve the citizens' rights and the peace process in North lreland.
