Abstract

The right to housing has found an important way of protection in the European Union through the judgements of the ECJ in the field of consumers´ rights. This protection, which has nothing to do with the conception of the right to housing as a mere benefit-based social right, is of a procedural nature and is the result of an extensive interpretation of the right to respect for one´s home that comes from ECHR.
