Abstract

An aulos fragment of Hellenistic typology coming from Cabezo de Alcalá (Azaila, Teruel) has been recently identified in the National Archaeological Museum collections. Its importance lies in the fact that it is the only piece found in the Iberian Peninsula. In the following lines, we present the piece, as well as its archaeological origin and context of entry into the museum. Likewise, we propose a brief review of the auloi importance in the Mediterranean area and the information provided by Iberian iconography in this regard.
