Abstract

In the last year of high school the subject of history of Spain is obligatory in all modalities. The academic course is marked by the entrance exam to University, limiting the possibility of the teacher to extend the knowledge given in the book and the time dedicated to teach each chapter of the manual. The fundamental themes of the contemporary era are the second Republic, the Civil War and Francoism. In the paper we study the information and the approach that the text books give to these three historical moments, in order to know what type of knowledge is transferred to the students.
