Resumo

Content-analysis technique has proved to be a suitable methodology for initianing postgraduates in research tasks which would sometimes end in the writing of the PhD. The range of topics to be analysed is very rich and diverse: texts books from different educational levels and learning areas, school resources and materials, written and ludic press, new technology, advertising, interviews, field notes, songs, etc. The accurate use of this technique allows the hidden aspects of the message to be showed, the content size and variables to be delimited and a category system housing the different parts of the message to be established. This paper points out the possibilities and the achievements reached with the aplication of this technique. I gathers a sample of products with different level of complexity: initianing works, consolidation works and works ending in a PhD.
