Abstract

This article aims to present Maupassant's views on the feminine universe in Une vie, Bel-Ami and Fort comme la mort, set in nineteenth century French society. Several core subjects will be addressed in this essay: the legal and social feminine condition; the female's sexual education, pervasive in Maupassant's writing; and finally, an analysis of Maupassant stereoscopic vision. This will help us understand his characters and determine the role of women in the social context of that period.
