Abstract
This paper presents a revision and reconsideration of Spanish correlative result clauses (consecutivas ponderativas) in the light of recent studies. After clarifying the meaning of 'result', we move on to the fundamental aspect of our study: the differences between these correlative result clauses and comparative structures. Our conclusion is that they are two different types of construction with different semantic structures. The interdependence of the quantifier and the subordinate conjunction is one of the central points of our argumentation.
