Abstract
Cid's memories have produced an array of iconic figures that have been craved in different materials, sizes and forms and attuned to the peculiarities and characteristics of changing times. Although almost all these figures have been studied and analyzed in depth, this paper aims at presenting something new by focusing on a simple engraving that shows Cid's first memorial when his corpse was transported from Valencia to the Monastery of Cardeña (Burgos), and exposed to the admiration and veneration for several years thus producing a "miracle".
