Resumen

Since the arrival, in the summer of 1603, of the heir of the House of Savoy, Filippo Emanuele with his brothers, Vittorio Amedeo and Emanuele Filiberto had participated in the many courtesan celebrations held in the court of Philip III of Spain established in Valladolid. A impressive account, unknown until now and kept at the National Library of Peru has enabled us to delve into the analysis of a spectacular chivalrous festival, endowed with a deep symbolic and ritual character, held in July 1604, during a decisive moment in the relationship between the Spanish monarchy and the House of Sayoy. Keywords: Philip III; Spanish monarchy; House of Savoy; Valladolid; Chivalrous festivals; Tournaments; Court; Public ceremonies.
