Zusammenfassung
The identification of the shield of the monastery of Cardeña being on top of the altarpiece conserved in the hermitage of San Vicente, in the town of Esguevillas de Esgueva (Valladolid), allows us to deduce its provenance of the priory of San Babilés, which it existed near village of the Población de Campos (Palencia), as well as to approximate its authorship to the baroque assembler from Burgos, Joaquín de Villandiego.
