Résumé

Historiography has dealt often with detailing the military services rendered by Miguel de Cervantes, since this is one of his biography´ most interesting aspects. Another interesting part of his biography is the time he was held captive in Argel. Our interest in studying in depth Cervantes´ biography comes out not only from sheer curiosity, but is justified by the fact that any data that we can provide to clarify his vital trajectory allow us to better understand the sentences written in El Quijote, where many of the experiences lived and suffered by the author are reflected.
