Abstract

Caring is attending to and worrying about the help needs of people in a situation of dependency. Care implies developing a series of attitudes that go beyond executing certain assistance or control tasks; It also implies affection, accompaniment, respect and empathy with the person to be cared for. As Victoria Camps (2021) says, care presents an asymmetric relational aspect based on reciprocity, solidarity and exchange. To speak of ethics of care is to attend to aspects that provide security, tranquility, help, company and affection to the people attended. The ethics of care requires Ilexibility, adaptation to contexts and action from the circumstances of each persons "The ethics of care in a democracy is an ethic of the sharing of responsibilities." The supportive role and time dedicated by caregivers is a task insufficiently recognized by society. In the words of Mª Ángeles Durán, care does not seem to have entered the catalog of occupations, because it is very difficult to establish the economic value of the work done, measured in times of dedication.
