Abstract

This paper studies women’s fashion and its evolution through three paintings in the Cerralbo Museum collection: the portraits of María Luisa de Gamboa and López de León (circa 1835), wife of Francisco de Asís Aguilera Becerril, count of Villalobos and mother Enrique Aguilera y Gamboa, Marquis of Cerralbo; of Manuela Inocencia Serrano y Cerver, Marchioness consort of Cerralbo in 1871 by her marriage to Enrique de Aguilera y Gamboa, son of the previous portrayed, whose image is from 1859 and that of Matilde de Aguilera y Gamboa, Mrs. Fontagud, sister of the Marquis Enrique Aguilera y Gamboa and daughter of the Luisa de Gamboa, from 1873.
