Abstract
A five-year retrospective study of an out-of-class learning event on programming languages (initiation level) as well as frameworks or development platforms for that language (advanced level) is presented. It is an experience where a group of students teaches ot- her students. Data are provided on each of the editions and the results of the retrospective study are presen- ted to analyse the experience from the point of view of the two types of participants: the attendees and the ins- tructors. The data for the analysis have been obtained through online surveys. It is concluded that the expe- rience is positive in both cases, attendees prefer this type of learning to the classroom and that instructors appreciate soft skills acquisition or improvement.
