Abstract
This article establishes that Francisco de Velasco can be considered as an editor of the Siete Partidas at the same level as Alonso Díaz de Montalvo (1491) and Gregorio López (1555) since he corrected Montalvo’s edition in the light of other manuscripts, especially in the First and Second Partidas. It is also established that Díaz de Montalvo, with regard to the Second Partida, had as copy-text a manuscript of the very same type of the so-called codex of the Catholic Monarchs (BNE VITR/4/6).
