Abstract

This research constitutes a new phase in the implementation of the Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodology at the Industrial Engineering School (EII, in its Spanish acronym) of the University of Valladolid. In this case, the main objective is establishing a process to do the End of Degree Project in a group, shared and collaborative way within a BIM environment. This proposal is focused on the real essence of the BIM methodology, which is its collaborative power. If we did not have used that characteristic, we would not reach a conceptually comprehensive project at all, and we would always be in isolated partial phases of BIM. Along the whole process we have applied a collaborative learning system, which had been used before in the teaching of technical projects along with an intern collaborative methodology used by teachers. In order to materialize the experience we have set up an interdisciplinary team integrated by four students from different Degrees tittles of the EII, who will elaborate BIM models and required documents to develop a whole industrial project. Those subprojects will eventually form the End of Degree Projects.
