Abstract
Throughout the 14th century the Crown of Castile suffered a deep crisis that intensified the social instability, creating a breeding ground for the violent explosion of 1391, turning point which marked the end of religious tolerance because of the aggressions against the Jewish community. The article analyses the description of these pogroms made by Pero López de Ayala.
