Resumen

La mediastinitis es una infección grave, a veces secundaria a la progresión de un absceso cervical. Describimos el caso de un paciente de 56 años de edad que presentó un cuadro de fiebre, disfonía, dolor torácico y expectoración hemoptoica que fue diagnosticado de epiglotitis y mediastinitis y empiema secundarios.
