Abstract
Objective: To describe the functional social support perceived by full-term pregnant women at the Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valladolid during the months of December 2020 to March 2021. Method: descriptive cross-sectional study. Seventy-two pregnant women, users of the Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valladolid, participated. The measurement instrument was the Duke Functional Social Support Questionnaire, a self-applied Likert-type 11-item scale. The cut-off point is 32 for normal (<32) or low support (≥32). Results: The mean age was 34.17 years (SD = 5.31). The mean score on the scale was 21,29. 95.8% (n = 69) had a score of <32. 100% of those under 29 years of age (n=14) and of those over 40 years of age (n=11) valued receiving normal support. 4.44% (n=2) of primigravid women and 3.70% (n = 1) of multigravid women perceived low support. 89.5% (n=17) of the women with medium studies, 97.8% (n=45) with higher education and all (n=7) with primary studies reported normal support. 95.3% (n=61) of Spanish women reported normal support compared to 100% (n=8) reported by women of other nationalities. Conclusions: Most of the participants reported normal social support perception values during this pandemic period.
