Résumé

The parallelism and complementarity between resilience and familiarmediation, understood as processes, places us before a more human and equalitarian person’s conception; a person that is capable of confronting adverse situations, thinking about them, taking decisions and taking responsibility of the same ones. In this respect, the multidisciplinary approach of mediation and the contributions of positive psychology reflect the enormous appreciative and proactive potential of both terms. It is also necessary to indicate the importance of the mediating person, in order to facilitate effective processes of familiar mediation and resilience that they promote. In this work, we also analyze the role of individual and familiarresilience in three essential models of familiar mediation: coping with problems model, transformative model, and communicational model. So, we begin with the fact that three essential elements play a role in any process of familiar mediation: persons, conflict and process. In this way, intervention from the familiar mediation and promotion of resilience is needed for families in breaking process, since these breaking processes often give raise to situations ofmistreatment for the most vulnerable and weak family members, specially in sons and daughters.
