Resumen

This paper describes the application of quantitative model-based FDI to the refrigerator system a food processing plant. This represents a critical part of the plant from a maintenance cost point of view. The main system is a thermofluid process in which an ammonia thermodynamic process is used for cooling purposes. The parity input-output equations approach has been employed for the design of the residual generator. Residual threshold selection for residuals has been detennined experimentally using available data A simple binary logic system is used to isolate each posible fault, depending on the residuals that have triggered their thresholds. The main effort has been made on modelling and identification tasks, associated with the development of suitable parity equations.
