The objective of this study is the ISO 50001 energy management, using energy audits as management system tools and comparing theirs results with those from energy certification through dynamic simulation, applied to a standard university building. The methodology used to achieve savings and energy efficiency results, applied to a university building, can be used as a model for extrapolating to university buildings. The methodology used have the following scheme:-Selection of the building, location, characteristics of the building and inventory of building materials, equipment and systems.-Energy certification, using a software program recognized by the government of Spain called HULC unified tool LIDER-CALENER GT. Energy Audit- Analysis of results and conclusions. This study demonstrates that, through the results obtained in a university building with dynamic simulation software such as the LIDER-CALENER GT, about energy certification, compulsory according to national laws, can be considered as a substitute for the basic energy audit tool to implement A SGEn like ISO 500001. This will allow us to obtain the same results and will mean a significant economic reduction.
