Resumen

Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la asociación entre el divorcio de los padres durante la infancia y el logro de estudios universitarios de los hijos para el caso de España, según el estatus socioeconómico de los padres. Para ello, estimamos modelos de probabilidad lineal a partir de los datos de la Encuesta Social General Española de los años 2013, 2015 y 2017. Los resultados evidencian una asociación negativa entre el divorcio de los padres y la probabilidad de que los hijos obtengan un título universitario, siendo esta penalización mayor cuando el divorcio se produce entre los 0-5 y 12-16 años. Además, la penalización del divorcio en la probabilidad de obtener un título universitario es mayor para los hijos de padres de alto estatus socioeconómico.
